A Word from the Vine No. 345: Equipped for Battle: 5 Christian Weapons for You to Use Against The World

Hello, dear friends. Pastor Loren Christensen of Danish Countryside Chapel here with "A Word from the Vine." Today, I want to share with you a message that speaks to the challenges many of us face in our faith journey. It's not uncommon to look around and see those who seem to reject God's truth thriving, while we, as believers, encounter trials. In times of spiritual conflict, it's essential to remember that our Lord has equipped us for the battles we face. So, let's delve into this topic and explore five powerful Christian weapons that fortify us against the snares of the enemy.

Our first weapon is Faith, the foundation of triumph, and we draw inspiration from the Gospel of John, chapter 3, verses 14-15. Jesus, in His profound wisdom, draws a parallel between His impending crucifixion and the serpent lifted by Moses in the wilderness. The Israelites, facing the consequences of their disobedience, were saved by looking upon the raised serpent. Similarly, we are saved through faith in the lifted Son of Man, Jesus Christ.

Faith is not a passive observance but an active force that propels us toward the victory won on the cross. The world may flaunt its temporal victories, but our faith roots us in the certainty of eternal triumph. Consider the story of Corrie ten Boom, a remarkable Christian who faced unimaginable horrors in a Nazi concentration camp. In the midst of darkness, her unwavering faith not only sustained her but became a beacon of hope for others.

In our own lives, we may encounter situations where the ungodly appear to prosper. It's in these moments that our faith becomes a potent weapon, enabling us to trust in God's ultimate justice and sovereignty. As we wield the weapon of faith, let us remember that our confidence is not in the fleeting successes of the world but in the eternal promises of our Lord. Continue to trust, continue to believe, and let faith be your shield in the spiritual battles you face.

Thanks for joining me today.
