Hello, friends, and welcome back to A Word from the Vine. I’m Pastor Loren Christensen, and as we continue our journey through this Advent season, I want to talk with you today about something incredibly important: the universal love of Christ.
In Luke 3:6, John the Baptist declares, quoting the prophet Isaiah:
“And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.”
All flesh. Every person. No exceptions.
Now, that’s a powerful declaration, isn’t it? It’s a reminder that the Gospel is not for a select few, but for everyone. It’s not just for the Jews, or the righteous, or those who have it all together. It’s for the broken, the lost, the sinful, the outcasts—all flesh shall see the salvation of God.
This is why Advent is so special. It’s the season that reminds us that God didn’t just come for a certain group of people, but for the whole world. Jesus was born into our mess, into a world that needed saving, and He came to make a way for all to be reconciled to God.
Think about the implications of that for a moment. Jesus didn’t come just to save those who thought they had it all figured out. He didn’t come to save the righteous only—He came for the broken, the hurting, the people who are far off. He came for you, and He came for me. He came for the people in our communities, the ones who haven’t heard the Gospel yet, and the ones who may feel unworthy of His grace.
Friends, if Jesus came for all flesh, then His love must be greater than any walls we’ve built, greater than any labels we’ve placed on people, greater than any fear or division we might hold in our hearts. There’s no one beyond the reach of God’s love. There’s no one too lost for Him to save.
But here’s the catch: we’ve been called to carry that message of hope to the world. Just as John the Baptist was sent to prepare the way for Jesus, we are sent to prepare the way for others to meet Him. And how do we do that? We do it by reflecting the same love that Jesus showed us. We do it by reaching out to those who feel like they’re too far gone, by extending grace to the hurting, by making room for everyone at the table.
This Advent season, let’s not forget that the message of Christ is for all people. It’s not just for those who sit in church every Sunday. It’s for the ones who feel unworthy, the ones who feel alone, the ones who don’t know that Jesus is the Savior they’ve been waiting for.
And here’s the challenge: How will we make room for them? How will we share this good news with a world that desperately needs it?
As we prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ, let’s also prepare to share His love with those around us. Let’s be the voice in the wilderness, calling people to repentance and to the open arms of a Savior who came for all flesh.
Thank you for joining me today on A Word from the Vine. Until next time, may you share the love of Christ with all those He places in your path, and may your heart be made ready for His coming.
