Hello, friends. Welcome to A Word from the Vine. I’m Pastor Loren Christensen.

Today, I want to talk about the Holy Spirit—and what He loves to do most.

In John 16:14, Jesus says this about the Spirit:

“He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.”

Now think about that. The Spirit of God—who hovered over the waters at creation, who filled the prophets, who raised Jesus from the dead—has one central mission: to glorify Jesus.

He doesn’t draw attention to Himself. He doesn’t seek the spotlight. In fact, He is the spotlight—shining all His light on Christ.

That’s a powerful image. The Spirit is like a divine spotlight, illuminating the beauty, the truth, and the majesty of Jesus. And when the Spirit is truly at work in our lives, Jesus becomes clearer, brighter, more central.

Sometimes we get confused. We chase spiritual experiences, emotional highs, or signs and wonders. And while God can certainly move in powerful ways, the true test of the Spirit’s presence is this: does it glorify Jesus?

If the Spirit is moving in your life, you’ll find yourself drawn to Christ. You’ll want to know Him more, love Him more, follow Him more. That’s the Spirit’s work—always pointing us to the Son.

So here’s a question for you today: What’s at the center of your spiritual life? Is it Jesus? Or is it something else?

Let’s ask the Spirit to do what He loves to do—to glorify Christ in us.

Let us pray.

Holy Spirit,

Shine Your light on Jesus.

Help us to see Him more clearly,to love Him more deeply, and to follow Him more faithfully.

May our lives glorify the Son,just as You do.

In His name we pray,

Amen.

Thank you for joining me today on A Word from the Vine. Until next time, may you remain rooted in Christ, nourished by His Word, and growing in grace.
