On Pentecost, the Spirit's flame descended,
As tongues of fire, the hearts of men befriended.
In upper room, disciples gathered, yearning,
Awaiting power, for which their souls were burning.
With rushing wind, a mighty force came blowing,
Divine presence, with grace and love bestowing.
The Holy Spirit, like a gentle dove,
Embraced their hearts with gifts from up above.
Their mouths were loosened, speaking foreign tongues,
And all who heard were stunned by what it sung.
From distant lands, people had gathered near,
Amazed to hear the message loud and clear.
For on that day, the Church was truly born,
In unity and love, forever sworn.
Pentecost, a celebration of the heart,
When God's Spirit in us finds a place to start.
So let us gather, on this holy day,
To seek the Spirit's guidance in our way.
Empowered by the fire of Pentecost,
May we, as one, in God's love be engrossed.
